About the Maitreya developers kit for fitted mesh
There have been a lot of questions about the maitreya dev kit for fitted mesh and we want to try to clear things up a little.
Last April we started sending our kit for mesh clothing to a number of stores. You can find most of these stores listed here. Since late this summer, due to an unfortunate incident regarding the kit, we temporarily put a hold on the kit. We have also had some feedback about the kit from some of the creators we did send out to, saying that the kit was difficult to work with in some ways. We wanted to take this opportunity to see how the kit could be improved. All this would not have taken so much time, had I not been faced with a very serious rl situation that is demanding a lot of my time and energy and that has forced me to cut my sl hours drastically.
There have been some concerns that we now only share kits without weights. That was only a temporary solution that we offered in two rare occasions, in an attempt to give them something to work with fast. It isn’t the new policy and as soon as things are resolved, it is our intention to continue distributing a kit with weights included.
Once we resume distribution, we will have to process a lot of applications, with more coming in daily. This processing is very time-consuming. We can't promise that everyone who applied will eventually receive a kit. But we do promise that we will do our very best to process the applications and provide the full kit to as many designers as we can in the most timely manner possible.

Maitreya Mesh Body Update
There is an update (V3.5) out for the Maitreya Mesh Body. This update will be automatically sent to you when you login to sl while wearing a previous version of the body, or when you attach a previous version.
- You can now choose to hide the feet and hands on the HUD, instead of detaching and re-attaching them.
- There are new group buttons on the alpha HUD, for quick and easy alpha hiding.
- We updated the alpha auto-hide script. The set up is now a lot easier and items with the new auto-hide script will also unhide their hidden parts, when detached.
This feature is meant to make life easier for both mesh body users and mesh content creators. No matter how well a mesh item has been fitted and rigged for the body, small or larger parts of the body will often still need to be hidden. Mesh body users like to change clothing without the hassle of hiding and unhiding parts of their body. While for content creators it's often mission impossible to make their mesh work with each animation, for each shape slider setting, without the need for alpha. If a clothing item knows which parts of the body to hide, does this automatically and also unhides those parts when it gets detached, there is no more hassle for the customers. We hope the new auto-hide script will run smoothly. But please note it is still in beta. We are open to feedback and ideas that help us improve things.
All items that only had standard sizes have been removed from the store. This means that all clothing and footwear at the store now is either made specifically for the Lara mesh body, or has been updated with a Lara size. We will keep updating older items now and then, and when an item is updated, it will return to the store. Most older items can still be purchased on marketplace.

Releases & Updates
It has been a while, but this month we have released a lot of new fitted mesh items for the Lara mesh body and lots of older items have been updated.

The boho style backdrop necklace is fitted mesh, made exclusively for the Lara mesh body. It comes with a little hud for metal change. The necklace is available in 7 gem stone colors and there is a fatpack option that is fully hud-driven.
![Maitreya Moccasin boots & Kala dress]()
The Moccasin boots are fitted mesh over-the-knee boots, made to be worn with the Maitreya feet-flat. There is an additional fitted mesh size included, that fits the default avatar and works with most mesh bodies (when alpha is used). These boots come with a hud that has 3 subtle colour-tone options for the stitches and/or strings. The Moccasin boots are available in 10 natural suede colors and the fatpack is completely hud-driven.
The slouch stockings are cut-off silk nylons that come in lots of beautiful colors. There are 3 versions included, for all three Lara foot shapes (flat, mid and high). The fatpack for these stockings is hud-driven. The slouch stockings are made exclusively for the Maitreya mesh body Lara.
We complete this bohemian look with a beautiful babydoll dress: Kala. There are 10 colors to choose from and there is of course also a fatpack option. Besides the fitted mesh version for the Maitreya mesh body Lara, this dress also comes in the 5 standard sizes.

You can find the redelivery terminal on the counter at the main building (left entrance, walk straight forward, up to the back wall). The redelivery terminal has 3 buttons. Most purchases will be in terminal 1. If you find any of your updated items in terminal 2, you will need some help getting them redelivered. You can send either me or Gryphon Ronas a notecard with the details of the items you need redelivered (only for items in redelivery terminal 2. The other terminals work fine!). Please note that the marketplace store hasn't been completely updated yet.

A sexy, boho romper and colour-changeable soft leather belt, in 10 colors and 5 different metal tones for the buckle. The rompers are available in 6 plain colors and 6 prints. We have two brand new items for the Lara mesh body out at the MBA fair. The Naomi bodysuit is available in 8 colors. The HUD driven fatpack comes with 4 bonus colors! The little string knot at the bottom can be hidden, to wear this bodysuit with the new High Waisted Jeans shorts. The high waisted jeans shorts are available in 6 colors and also have a HUD driven fatpack option. There are two versions of the shorts included: torn and rolled. Both versions come with an optional leather belt.

Mihira Bikini
We have a new Lara mesh body exclusive Bikini in store. The Mihira bikini comes with an optional jewelry piece. This boho style jewelry piece has a color-change HUD for the metal and the stones (metal in 5 color options, the stones in 6 options). The bikini is available in 12 colors and textures. The fatpack is fully HUD-driven with all 12 colors plus 6 bonus colors!

Important Announcement for Mesh Creators
Designers who work from template mesh are an important part of the mesh clothing industry in Second Life, and we seek to provide venues where they can buy the raw materials without the worry of being subjected to legal action or takedowns due to circumstances that were beyond their control.
So, by popular demand we have decided to open up dev kit applications for full permission creators. There is one important restriction and that is that you can't sell, transfer or in any way share the .DAE, .FBX, or any other file format that contains the weights. Selling the full permission items made with our kit is limited to selling inworld copies. We welcome full permission stores who have a strong TOS and who themselves have been respectful about the property and copyrights of others, to apply for a full perm kit license. We will of course add this category to our blog list of approved developers, as a reliable source for everyone who seeks legal, properly fit, high quality full permission (or also called template) mesh.
If you are a 'Full Perm' designer/creator, we are asking that you please complete the application form (again, I know....) and select the Full Permissions option. This will help us get to you much faster because having to go back through that list and read every entry to find you will take forever...

Twist Dress and Low Sneakers
Todays release is the perfect late summer/early fall outfit. Sexy, stylish and very contemporary!

The Twist Dress is a tight, figure hugging dress with a nice fabric twist in the front. From the back it looks like a skirt with a bra-top. It comes in 12 beautiful colors and the HUD-driven fatpack has 12 bonus colors! (The fatpack already gives a discount of more than 50% for the 12 colors, on top of that it contains the 12 extra colors). The dress comes in a fitted mesh size for the Lara mesh body and in the 5 standard sizes.

These trending Low Sneakers come in two sizes (37 and 39), for both the Maitreya and the Slink feet flat. The larger size is recommended for taller avatars, but both sizes will fit your feet. The fatpack of these sneakers is fully customizable. It has many texture options and colors and the different parts (main, tongue/toe, logo, laces and heel tab) can be separately re-colored. With all the textures options in the fatpack HUD you can be creative and make your own unique sneaker design. We have created 17 of our favorite sneaker styles as single color options. Note that the single colors do not come with a HUD and can't be recolored. The demo at the store is the fatpack demo, so it allows you to see (and count) all the options and styles that can be made with the fatpack. As a matter of fact, we want to challenge you to calculate how many different sneaker designs can be created with this fatpack. If you get the correct answer you could win the Low Sneakers fatpack, or if you already purchased the fatpack, you can win 2500 L in store credit. This little contest is prolonged till Saturday 23:59 am SLT. You can send your answer in a notecard to Gryphon Ronas. From the correct answers we will draw 10 lucky winners. Maitreya Bento Hands
It took us a while... at times it felt like forever ;), but we are happy to announce that our bento hands are finally ready and released!
There are two wonderful things about having bento hands. One is that with the 14 added hand poses you now have 14 different hand shapes included with your mesh body (just like having a 'mesh hands fatpack'). The second great thing about this is that Bento hands allow for finger movement, if you have a bento AO, making your hands dynamic and the options for how your hands appear endless.
">The 14 hand poses on the lara HUD can be used in combination with all your model poses and AOs. We also added 2 new nail shapes (Almond nails and Stiletto nails) to this Lara update and the ability to hide the nails completely, which makes the hands better compatible with 3rd party nails.
The best thing about the Maitreya Bento hands though, is that you will get them for free if you own the Lara mesh body. Wearing your mesh body will trigger the updater to send the updated version with all this yummy newness!

Maitreya Mesh body Lara Update V4.1
Today we sent out an update for the Maitreya mesh body Lara: V4.1
Based on the feedback we received from so many of you about the 4.0 update, we have:
- Re-installed the minimize function by clicking the logo bar
- Added a "cycle natural hand poses" button to the HUD.
- Added an "ankle lock" to correct the heel on the tiptoe feet for poses that break them.
- Added an optional mini AO HUD, with just the hand poses.
- Fixed an alpha auto-hide error
- Fixed a potential issue with nail polish vs gloves (alpha glitch)
Re-attaching your current mesh body or wearing it on login, will trigger the updater.

Bakes on Mesh
We have made a BoM relay hud for the Lara mesh body, so you can try out the Bakes on Mesh (BoM) feature, that was recently released by Linden Lab. This is not an "Update" to the Lara body, it's just a tool to let you see what the new feature is and how you can use it.
Consider this a preview tool - nothing more. It will function normally for skins and layers, but alpha layers will not work until the full BoM body is released, due to needed changes to the mesh body itself. For alpha, for now, use the Lara HUD as you currently do.
Please keep in mind that older pre-mesh-body skins will work, but expect to see some odd texture effects around the fingers and toes. This is because the default SL avatar has no toes and no fingernails and these skins were made with that in mind. So in order for your toes and fingers to appear properly, no matter if your skin textures are applied to your body or bakes on mesh, it is key that the skin was created for the Maitreya body.
The new Bakes on Mesh feature does not influence your mesh clothing in any way, you can still use that as you always have. BoM also won't influence your Tattoo, Underwear, and Clothing layers. They too can still be used the way you always have (with Tattoo, Underwear, Clothing appliers made for Maitreya or Omega). You can use the new BoM features in combination with the mesh body layers, to allow for more layering options.
To use the BoM relay:
Make sure you have removed your full body alpha layer (The one that hides your default body) and that you are using a BoM capable viewer. Then simply wear or add the BoM relay as you would any HUD or applier and touch it to activate. Now every texture you have on your default body will be "baked" together on the SL server and sent to your mesh body. Each time you add, remove, or move a layer within the stack, your body will re-rez to display that change.
Note that others near you who are not in a BoM capable viewer, will not be able to see the baked textures on your mesh body.
To switch back to your standard mesh body: add your full body alpha and just re-apply your skin (on the hud or with a skin applier).
Where do we go from here?
This relay is a temporary measure to allow you to see and play around with the possibilities of BoM. It is our intention to have BoM fully implemented in the next update of the Lara mesh body - this will be a free update, you will not have to buy a new body. BoM will be an addition to the Lara mesh body, not a replacement of anything. We fully understand that many of you have invested a lot of time and money in both buying and creating appliers. We also expect that for certain things the use of appliers and dedicated layers might still be preferred.

We want to express our gratitude for your patience and want to use this opportunity to explain a bit about what has been taking us so long. First of all, because nothing crucial was broken or malfunctioning, we felt less pressure to release an update fast. Our plans for the next update were based on your requests for things to be added to Lara and on some new ideas we had for the mesh body. The road turned out to be a lot more rocky than we anticipated and the progress was frustrated more than once. We came across some unforeseen obstacles that challenged us, but we feel we are in a better position now to move forward.
Please understand that we cannot give an ETA for the next generation of Lara. We have learned too well how dependent we are on too many variables. In addition, BoM is in its early stages. It will be interesting to see in which way it will enrich us and what it won't be useful for. Now that BoM has been released some of the insurmountable obstacles we were trying to overcome are removed. We have been re-thinking the layer system and how to best use it in a world where BoM exists. Some changes and features that you have been asking for will be addressed. In the coming weeks as more viewers, thus more users become BoM capable, your wants and needs may change. Please let us know if your needs change so we can take the new information into account as we wrap up the next generation of your body and get it ready to send out to you.

Shanti for Lara
We are happy to join the Stay at Home Club, an initiative in second life to bring fun and gifts in these difficult times.
The Maitreya Gold Shanti heels were originally made as sculpties, in 2009. The Shanti were at the time our 'best seller' heels, the most popular shoes we ever made.
We converted these sculpties to mesh and resized them to fit the Lara mesh body feet high. We have added a few new colors too.
We want to offer the Shanti heels as a gift to everybody who loved them in 2009 and who would now like to wear them again with their Lara mesh body and to everyone who joined second life since.

Petite add-on for Lara mesh body
The Petite is a small breast add-on for the Lara mesh body.
This add-on requires you to wear the latest V5.2 version of Lara (which is in the redelivery servers now).
The Petite add-on hides and replaces your Lara chest. It comes with it's own HUD with textures created by Mochi Milena (Pink Fuel) in the usual (Glam Affair) skin tones.
Just like the Lara breasts, the Petite add-on has 3 nipple shapes to choose from: regular, hard and puffy. There are also the optional HD nipples with 30 high resolution textures.
We are putting the finishing touches on a new Lara mesh body kit that will contain the small breast add-on. We are hopeful and confident that some mesh creators will specialize in creating content for Lara Petite, or will add these sizes to their new collections in the near future.
Please note: Since the petite add-on breasts are smaller than the regular Lara breasts, some mesh clothing made for the Lara mesh body may not fit it well. However BoM and applier layers are totally supported. The Petite add-on has it's own 3 layers (Tattoo, Underwear, Clothing) to replace your Lara layers.

The Rêve set is made for the Lara mesh body and the Lara Petite add-on.
A lot of love and hard work went in to the creation of the Rêve lingerie set and we hope you guys will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed working on it!
You can find the Rêve lingerie set at the right 'wing' (side) of the Maitreya store. It is placed in the display wall that separates the right and left side. (when you tp to Maitreya isle, you choose the right entrance of the main building and it will be on the wall to your left)
